Philly news intern survives Orlando mass shooting

A Philadelphia television news intern survived the Orlando mass shooting after being shot in the leg, Fox 29reported on its Facebook page.

Patience Carter is reportedly recovering and is in stable condition along with her friend, who was also shot during the deadly massacre which killed 49 people and injured more than 50.

In its post, Fox 29 said it was sending”thoughts and prayers” to Carter. “We are so grateful to hear they are recovering and in good hands. We look forward to a speedy recovery and Patience’s return to FOX 29,” the news station said.

Carter was not the only local resident to be part of the mass shooting.

A West Philly teen was killed in the Sunday rampage. Akyra Murray, 18, was on vacation with her family when she went to Pulse nightclub.
