A Philadelphia police officer facing charges stemming from an alleged break-in at his girlfriend’s house turned himself in to authorities on Thursday.
Officer Alex McAdams, 28, a four-year veteran of the Philadelphia Police Department, was suspended with intent to dismiss, NBC10 reported, after he was arrested in connection to an early morning trespassing and burglary at his girlfriend’s house.

On March 5, McAdams allegedly removed a screen from a side window at the first-floor apartment where his girlfriend lived, entered the home and took an item before chasing the woman from the residence, CBS3 stated.
Police said to 6ABC that when the incident occurred, McAdams was off duty from his position as an officer in the 15thDistrict.

McAdams now faces charges of burglary, criminal trespassing, theft and criminal mischief, according to CBS3.
