Philly ranks sixth in most-searched housing markets

If you’re looking at real estate in Philadelphia, you have some serious company.

According to search results released yesterday from Realtor.com, the city was the sixth most-searched market in the country in June, coming in behind frontrunners Chicago, Las Vegas, Detroit, Los Angeles and Phoenix.

The report also evaluated home prices: In Philadelphia, the median list price for homes in June was $239,000 (a 7.18 percent decrease from the same time in 2010) while the national median list price was $189,000 (down a more modest .05 percent from last June).

But while there’s competition out there, there’s no shortage of properties. According to the Realtor.com survey, there were 26,369 homes on the market in Philly last month.
