A video depicting a bathroom beat-down at a Philadelphia high school, posted to spread awareness of bullying, has gone viral.

The clip reportedly shows 16-year-old Mia Chanel DeJesus, a sophomore at Northeast High School, being punched and dragged by her hair by four other female students.

Along with clips of the attack, which she said happened on Jan. 27, DeJesus speaks in a voiceover, sounding off about bullying

“I refuse to be held hostage by this video and my fear. I will not be a victim,” DeJesus says in a voiceover on top of the video. “I will post this video every day until something is done for all the people who continue to experience this type of humiliation.”

DeJesus told Action News she decided to post the video after the girls who assaulted her tried to use it to harass her online.

"When I saw it, I was embarrassed because people were reposting and laughing about it. It just messed me up in my head," 16-year-old Mia DeJesus told the news station.

Action News reported the footage, posted in several forms, had been viewed two million times.

“Now they’re famous for being cowards,” Dejesus mother Melinda told the outlet.

The Philadelphia school district, meanwhile, challenged the claim made in the clip that the attack was bullying.

"We do not condone this behavior and appropriate action was taken against the four students, said Raven Hill, school district spokeswoman, according to Action News. “We would not characterize this as bullying, but rather a neighborhood dispute that spilled over in the school building,”
