Philly suburbs move to Green Phase this weekend

Although the City of Brotherly Love itself is still in the Yellow Phase, Philly suburbs have made the move to the Green Phase, and with that comes indoor dining. On June 26, a few establishments have decided to open their doors back up in celebration of the new phase, but of course, that will come with safety regulations to ensure that everyone can still stay healthy. Each venue will be implementing their own precautions and most have details listed on their sites as well. It’s no secret that this time is a bit unprecedented for everyone, but luckily, we all seem to be in the same boat in terms of trying to make the Green Phase as enjoyable and safe as possible. 

Here are a few hotspot opening up for indoor dining this weekend in the Philly suburbs.

Iron Hill Brewery

The popular brewery’s Huntingdon Valley, Media, North Wales, Phoenixville, West Chester and Newtown locations will be opening daily for indoor dining at reduced capacity starting June 26 from noon to 8 p.m., and Iron Hill’s Ardmore and Chestnut Hill locations will also be opening up daily, but for pickup and delivery from noon to 7:30 p.m. The eateries will serve up a slew of drafts and can for beer options as well as plenty of food choices ranging from burgers, sandwiches, hearth-baked pizzas, starters, salads, kids meals, desserts, cocktails and much more. Reservations can be made for those who are looking to dine indoors at this popular chain, but walk-ins will also be accepted at a few select locations. To adhere to safety guidelines, Iron Hill will be following protocols to ensure the safety of guests and employees. The protocols include having dedicated team members on every shift protecting your safety (this will be the only thing they focus on during hours of operation), single-used condiments and menus, having tables spaced six feet apart, a new reservation platform to maintain proper seating percentages, and a soon-to-be added pay-at-the-table options for additional touch-free service.

PJ Whelihan’s

All PJ Whelihan’s locations in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania will be opening for indoor and outdoor seating at a reduced capacity starting this Friday, June 26. The chain will be operating at a first-come, first-serve basis from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Guests can sip on any of PJ’s cocktail options or choose a drink from the full bar set-up while munching on enticing menu items such as their famous wings (in a variety of flavors such as honey BBQ, garlic, sweet chili and more), burgers, salads, twin crab cakes, fish ‘n chips, buffalo Brussel sprouts, cheesesteak egg rolls, pretzel bites and more. All locations under the PJ Whelihan’s umbrella will also be following safety guidelines. New protocols include pre-screening of all of their team members, requiring personal protective equipment be worn, keeping safe hand-washing and hygiene practices, increased sanitation, maintaining social distancing, having disposable menus, managing and disinfecting condiments, refilling beverages in new glasses and offering multiple dining options.

ChopHouse Grille

The hotspot eatery in Exton will be opening its doors this weekend to offer indoor dining service. Reservations for ChopHouse can be made online, but walk-ins will also be accepted as well, with hours of service running Tuesday through Thursday from 4-10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 4 -11 p.m. and Sunday from 4-9 p.m. (the restaurant is closed on Monday.) The eatery will be serving up a slew of enticing options for all to enjoy including their buffalo shrimp, seared tuna, short rib tacos, BBQ chicken flatbread, jumbo lump crab cake sandwich, chicken Caprese sandwich, porcini seared sea scallops, cedar baked salmon, flourless chocolate espresso cake and much more. Drink-wise guests can also choose from a variety of libations including cocktails, hand-crafted seltzers, wine by the glass, cold-brewed cocktails and more. ChopHouse will be following similar protocols to most establishments and will be having wellness checks with team members before every shift, will require all team members to wear masks and gloves at appropriate times, will encourage hand-washing throughout the day and have sanitizing stations readily available throughout the restaurant. ChopHouse will also increase sanitation on surfaces, adhere to social distancing guidelines by implementing signage encouraging others to keep their space, have re-disposable menus, offer different dining options and more.

The Pour House 

Both Pour House PA locations (Exton and North Wales) will be open for indoor and outdoor dining with reduced capacity limits for safe social distancing standards starting this Friday. Both establishments will be running on a first-come, first-serve basis and hours will be Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. in Exton and Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight in North Wales. While there, guests can enjoy Nashville hot nachos, short rib cheese fries, ahi tuna poke tacos, goat cheese fritters, an array of sandwiches, a cookie skillet sundae and much more. The Pour House will be implementing pre-screening of all of their employees and any team member, require personal protective equipment to be worn at all times when on shift, offer safe hand washing and hygiene practices including portable stations, increased sanitation protocols on all surfaces, ensure that maintaining social distancing standards is of utmost importance, have disposable menus, manage and disinfect condiments, refill beverages in new glasses and offer multiple dining options that can be contactless for guests as well.
