Philly subway attacker shoved woman onto tracks: Police

A Philadelphia man was arrested after allegedly shoving a woman onto the subway tracks at the 40th and Market Street SEPTA station while yelling, “Kill! Kill! Kill!”

Kenneth Grimes, 33, has been charged with aggravated assault stemming from a Sunday night unprovoked attack in which police say he brandished a kitchen knife and pushed a woman from the back onto the subway tracks, the Daily Mail reported. She pulled herself out and called 911, but Grimes had already fled from the station.

He allegedly boarded the next train and exited at 30th Street, where police apprehended him as he fought and spat at them, Philly.com stated. The knife was eventually recovered, and Grimes was taken into custody.

Lt. John Walker described the incident to CBS. “He’s yelling at her, ‘Kill! Kill! Kill!’ and he’s got a knife in his hand. … She looks at him astonished and says, ‘What are you doing?’”
