Are your kids looking to run off and join the circus? This summer is the perfect chance to learn the arts of the big top as the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts has announced the return of Summer Circus Camp for 2025.

From trapeze to aerial sling and fabric, wire walking, juggling, plate-spinning, rolling globe, tumbling, unicycling, clowning, and so much more, kids can clown around this summer while learning about the mental concentration, trust, and discipline it takes to make it big under the big top. Lessons are taught by trained professionals on real circus equipment used by the pros themselves.

This year’s camp will run from Sunday, June 16, through Friday, Aug. 22, and offers options for kids ages 4 -5 (kinder), 6 -7 (junior), 8 – 12 (youth), and 13 – 16 (teen). Campers will be divided into groups based on age and experience, ensuring as level and enjoyable an experience as possible for everyone.

For kinders and juniors, camp begins with a warm-up activity before moving on to acrobatics, aerials, juggling and balancing, with snack, water and breaks including lunch. After lunch, campers will rest and recharge with some arts and crafts, and fun circus games.

For youth and teen campers, mornings similarly start with a warm-up activity before beginning work on circus disciplines like acrobatics, aerials, juggling, and balancing. After lunch, campers will enjoy specialty workshops, including clown, hula hoop, theatre and more, and a chance to work on whatever skills and disciplines they like during a supervised open practice. Each day ends with a fun and active group game.

“We are thrilled to offer a full summer of circus camp for kids of all ages,” said Executive Director Kitsie O’Neill. “Summer is the perfect time to challenge your children with the right balance of creativity, skill building and connecting with new friends. Summer Circus Camp is a one-of-a-kind experience that incorporates elements of play, mental concentration, trust, and of literally turning yourself upside-down. Participants will create new friendships, learn new skills, become more receptive to new ideas, build self-esteem, learn team-work, and simply experience pure fun.”
