Gravy Studio & Gallery is showing off its new home in Kensington, near the Frankford Avenue Arts Corridor, with a new exhibit. “Lost and Found,” a collection of photographs by Laura Kicey, opens Friday.

“The old space was awesome — it was in a vintage motorcycle warehouse — but you couldn’t use it as an actual studio,” says Gravy co-owner Katie Tackman about the gallery’s move from its former Fishtown spot. “Here we have a place to shoot and work, plus our gallery.”

Gravy debuts a photography exhibit, along with a complementary musical performance, every First Friday; in between they “don’t really have a schedule,” Tackman says. “If the doors are open, come in.”

“Lost and Found” includes several landscapes Kicey took in Iceland, as well as a collection of portraits.

“Her portraits are very ephemeral. The way she lights things, the subjects kind of blend into the environment,” says Tackman, who’s also a photographer. “They’re not just fashion portraits — they create a narrative.”
