PHOTOS: Diner en Blanc 2017

After last year’s stunning Diner en Blanc on the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum, this year’s event was even more epic. With over 5,300 people in attendance (and a waiting list of 43,000) last night’s Diner en Blanc at Philadelphia’s Franklin Square was the largest to ever be held in the United States.

Diner en Blanc Philly organizer Natanya DiBona says, “After last year’s Diner en Blanc at the Philadelphia Museum of Art the bar was set very high. We didn’t want to compete with the views and aerial perspective, and instead wanted to create a very different and unique interactive experience that had lots of things for guests to do.”

She adds, “We also love the back story that Franklin Square  was one of Philadelphia’s five original squares. We love what Historic Philadelphia has done to revitalize the square in the last decade and we wanted to spotlight it as one of our favorite public spaces. We are hoping that for guests that haven’t been to Franklin Square that this will encourage them to fall in love with it like we have and return many, many times.”

Guests dressed head to toe in white attire and brought decadent feasts to picnic in the idyllic park amongst water fountains, trees and carousels. There was plenty of mingling, dancing, contests for the best dressed and best table and of course, great times had by all.
