Photos: Federal Donuts hosts its first-ever block party

On Sunday, Oct. 1, Federal Donuts held its first-ever block party in Center City. A shoulder-to-shoulder crowd made its way down the 1600 block of Sansom Street in hopes for a free Federal donut or chicken sandwich. The event also featured live music, face-painting and other family-friendly activities. A large donut wall, a popular photo-op, was also featured at the event, although the donuts disappeared quickly. The block party was scheduled to last from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., but Federal Donuts was forced to stop making food within the first hour due to larger turnout than expected, as ordered by the Philadelphia fire marshal. Nonetheless, the crowd stayed strong to enjoy Yards beer, live music and the Philly donut-themed experience.
