Photos: going the distance at the Philadelphia Marathon

They came. They saw. They ran.

Nearly 30,000 runners hit Philadelphia Sunday for the 26.2 mile course that makes up the Gore-tex Philadelphia Marathon.

The winner was Teklu Deneke, of Ethiopia, currently residing in Arizona, with a time of two hours and 17 minutes.

The female winner was Gisela Olade Granados, of Mexico, currently residing in Tennessee.

Philadelphia Brian Lang broke the Guiness World Record for fastest run dressed as Santa. He ran 26.2 miles in a Santa suit, hat and beard in two hours and fifty-four minutes.
