Last night was a who’s who of the Philadelphia culinary community, with some of the most influential restaurant professionals in the city coming out to honor chef Esther McManus at the inaugural Outstanding in her Field farm dinner. She was selected by the committee of Les Dames d’Escoffier for her “vast contributions” to the Philadelphia food scene, which include being the “mother of modern bread baking” in our city and for her dedication to culinary education.
The event was held outside in the sunshine at the Inn at Grace Winery. Attendees dined at a communal table, soaking up sunshine amongst the grapevines. David Braverman of Le Bus, Daniel Liberatoscioli of The Restaurant School and Georges Perrier of Le Bec-Fin fame were included in the long list of friends and colleagues at the event.
