Last Thursday, Les Dames d’Escoffier and Bartram’s Garden teamed up for an unforgettable evening of delicious food, drink and entertainment. Proceeds from the summer garden party benefitted the Farm at Bartram’s Garden, an organization which grows 12,000 lbs of produce every year with a team of paid high school interns.
Les Dames chefs paired up with these interns to create and prepare a menu for the event using the farm’s produce and utilizing the kitchen at the Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College.
“I did not only learn of food while working [at the Farm],” says student intern Tykia. “I learned how to be responsible. I learned work ethic. And most of all I learned to be bold. I learned that there, with the endless rows of food, I could flourish like the large and beautiful sunflowers.”
