On Sept. 1, the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts made its big move from their 10-year-old studio in Germantown to their new space in West Mt. Airy.
After a farewell performance, staff and performers closed the studio’s doors and paraded to their new location in the former St. Madeleine Sophie Church, located at 6440 Greene St.
Families were able to get a look inside the new building and some even helped move in equipment.
Philadelphia School of Circus Arts along with its sister school Circadium School of Contemporary Circus, will officially open at their Grand Opening Weekend celebration from Sept. 15 through Sept. 17.
The new 3-acre campus includes a sanctuary studio, gymnasium, lobby and school building.
When Circadium opens, it will be the only professional circus program in the United States offering a degree in circus arts. Philadelphia School of Circus Arts is to educate the general public for recreational purposes.
