TheUSO, in partnership with international fashion designer Sherri Hill, hosted one of this year’s eightOperation That’s My Dress (OTMD) events in the Philadelphia/New Jersey area at the Hotel Mount Laurel in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. Entering into its fifth year, OTMD will give military teens ages 13-19 as well as military spouses and service members, the chance to pick out a brand new gown or cocktail dress. This is the first time it’s come to the Philadelphia area, and nearly 1000 excited guests attended the event which take place on June 29 and 30. In total, OTMD has received over a thousand dresses from Anne Taylor, Ralph Lauren and, of course, Sherri Hill. The Operation That’s My Dress experience is just one of the many ways theUSOconnects service members and their families to their family, home and country. The girls were paired with with beauty pageant contestants and professionals to find the perfect outfit for them. They then received make up tips, and stopped by the Beauty Bar to pick up a gift bag of perfume, hair and accessory giveaways. In between beauty stops, the families could head to Coco Bay WaterPark, which was on the first floor of the hotel, and enjoy a “day at the beach”, while lunching at Mission Grille, who was on hand to serve lunch.
