Pi Day in Philadelphia is March 14 (3.14), and in the city and surrounding areas there are plenty of mouthwatering and interesting ways to celebrate.
Double Trellis
Double Trellis is taking the tasty holiday up a notch by adding a charitable incentive to it. Locals can place their order now for either a ginger five-spice apple streusel, toasted sesame and honey, or miso-caramel brownie pie—all of which are made from scratch with recipes from the Director of Programs, Adrian Carnecchia (a Philly pastry veteran.)
Each pie costs $50, and each one sold provides 10 free meals to Philadelphians in need. As a release notes, pies can be picked up between 5 and 7 p.m. on March 14, or noon to 4 p.m. on March 15. Any pies not picked up on time will be donated to one of Double Trellis’s partner programs. For those who simply wish to donate a pie, you can do so by emailing info@doubletrellis.org with your receipt, name, and which pie you are donating (if you order multiple pies.) Orders can be picked up at the Dorrance Hamilton Culinary Center (310 S. 48th St.)
Ordering can be done through flipcause.com, and more information on Double Trellis can be found online.

Night Kitchen Bakery

As a release notes, there will also be free pizza and hands-on STEM activities like slime-making, beaded bracelet crafting, face painting, temporary tattoos and more.
Additionally, the organizations are hosting a national sweepstakes, where three winners will receive a $3,140 educational scholarship and a $314 CAMP gift card. More information can be found online.

Linvilla Orchards
The popular farm is bringing back their annual activation in 2025, which takes $3.14 off of any whole pie (options span apple, pecan and cherry.) Locals can order ahead of time online for the treats, which end up costing $15.81 for this sale.

North Italia
Those who are headed to the KOP can stop at North Italia to check out their annual Pi Day festivities. Every year, the brand runs a nation-wide campaign by debuting eleven new market-exclusive pies in different locations, all of which are inspired by different regions of Italy.
In KOP specifically, visitors can indulge in the Wild Shrimp Puttanesca pie made with caper berry, castelvetrano olive, wild oregano, colatura and pecorino toscano. All locations nationwide will also be serving up another specialty for the occasion, aka the “Lasagna” Verde pie made with wild oregano, basil, mozzarella, pecorino and bechamel. The new dishes will be on the menu from March 14 to April 11.
