Mayor Jim Kenney and Rob Wonderling, President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, announced last week that the PIDC Board of Directors has appointed Anne Bovaird Nevins to serve as the organization’s next President, according to a release.

The non-profit organization was founded more than 60 years ago and its main mission is to spur investment, support business growth, and foster developments that create jobs, revitalize neighborhoods and drive inclusive growth to every corner of Philadelphia.
“During her 13-year tenure at PIDC, Anne Nevins successfully built the partnerships that deliver resources to diverse businesses, non-profits, and development projects,” said Mayor Jim Kenney in a release. “She brings focus and attention to connecting growth to the people and places in our city that need it the most. We are excited to continue the City’s long-term partnership with the Chamber of Commerce through PIDC under Anne’s leadership, and look forward to working together to foster economic growth that benefits all Philadelphians.”
At the time of the release, Nevins was currently PIDC’s Chief Strategy and Communications Officer serving on the Mayor’s Refinery Advisory Group for the City of Philadelphia, co-managing Philadelphia’s Amazon HQ2 bid, and creating and leading PIDC and ULI Philadelphia’s partnership advisory committee on the future of work and its impact on industrial and commercial land. According to the release, prior to this role, Nevins also served as PIDC’s Senior Vice President for Marketing and Business Development for six years where she led a team that transformed PIDC’s brand identity, developed new lending products, and generated 360 loans to small, diverse, and growing businesses investing over $117 million dollars located in 94% of Philadelphia’s zip codes.
