Mini-golf meets the movies with Philly’s newest waterside attraction, Pixar Putt. The new pop-up, open-air experience recently opened at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing — 101 S. Christopher Columbus Blvd. — last week, and will remain open at the venue until Oct. 1.

In partnership with the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation, Pixar Putt will operate seven days a week from noon to 10 p.m. with the last entry at 8:30 p.m. There will also be Pixar Putt After Dark evening sessions for guests 18+ on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. as well.

The course from Rockefeller Studios has made its way through the country already (with stops in New York City, Houston, San Antonio, Chicago, Denver and Fort Lauderdale) before setting its sights on the City of Brotherly Love.

“The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation is excited to host Pixar Putt at Penn’s Landing for their Mid-Atlantic debut. This will be an incredible addition to summer on the Delaware River Waterfront in Philadelphia,” said Delaware River Waterfront Corporation President Joseph Forkin in a statement.

Pixar Putt Producer Chad Larabee added: “We strive to bring Pixar Putt to iconic locations in the country’s greatest cities, which makes Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia a perfect fit. Our guests will be able to interact with their favorite Pixar characters with the Benjamin Franklin Bridge and the beautiful Delaware River as its backdrop.”

Larabee also mentioned the course is designed for all ages 4+, and will feature an interactive way to experience a variety of different Pixar films including ‘Toy Story’, ‘The Incredibles’, ‘Monsters, Inc.’, ‘Finding Nemo’, ‘Coco’, ‘A Bug’s Life’, ‘Wall-E’, ‘Soul’ and ‘Inside Out’, with 18 holes in total.

As the release describes, the course is as big on artistry as it is on the fun aspect of the experience, with world-class designers crafting an extensive and detailed course featuring innovative takes on some of the most recognizable characters of the production company’s repertoire.

“The designers strive to bring our guests into the various Pixar movies, rather than just setting a statue to play around, they explore the iconic moments for the film,” Larabee continued. “Since Pixar is such a prolific studio, we’re able to continually update the course with new and exciting experiences.”

From a hole dedicated to a French kitchen straight out of ‘Ratouille’ to the many doors of ‘Monster’s Inc.’, to an oversized piano from ‘Soul’, every single hole is meant to be immersive. The Philadelphia course will also mark the North American premiere of holes inspired by ‘Turning Red’, ‘Lightyear’, and a special surprise to be announced soon.

The venue is adding to the already stacked line-up down by the waterfront being housed in between the Independence Blue Cross Riverrink Summerfest and Spruce Street Harbor Park, and being just steps away from other favorite summertime attractions such as Cherry Street Pier, Race Street Pier, Liberty Point and Morgan’s Pier.

“The course is designed for kids ages 4-104 to play, which makes us a perfect addition to Summer Fest at Penn’s Landing. A special thank you to the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation for partnering with us on our Philadelphia debut,” Larabee finishes.
