Mayor Michael Nutter, Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey and other city officials were near the McCarthy Stables in Fairmount Park yesterday to announce a new home for the Philadelphia Police Mounted Unit.

Police Commissioner Ramsey’s longtime dream was realized today when the
Philadelphia Police’s Mounted Unit, which he has championed since his
appointment, got a permanent home in Fairmount Park.
