Police have named a Darby man as the suspect in the death of a Philly woman who was strangled in her home.
Omar Lewis, 38, a.k.a Maurice Lewis, a Jamaican national from Darby, Pa. was identified as the suspect in this case by police investigating the death of 36-year-old Andrea Roberts.
Roberts, who was killed on April 5.
Just before midnight on April 5 a male in the area received a voicemail telling him that Roberts was dead inside her home on the 5600 block of Willows Avenue.
The man, who was not identified, contacted police who went to Roberts’ home and found her dead with a bruise on her head.
On Monday, after an autopsy, Roberts’ death was declared a homicide by strangulation, according to police.
Police are asking anyone with information on Lewis’s whereabouts to contact the Homicide Unit or Homicide Fugitive Squad at 215-686-3334/3068 or call 911.
