Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying a shooter who opened fire amid a large crowd two weeks ago, leaving an 18-year-old man injured.
Police distributed surveillance video and images Saturday showing the suspect in the shooting, which happened just after 2:15 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, at Bristol Street and Germantown Avenue in Nicetown.
A large number of people were gathered in the area, and officers who responded to the scene found the victim with two gunshot wounds to his leg, law enforcement officials said. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, according to a PPD incident report sent out at the time.
Authorities did not provide any information about a possible motive for the attack.
Detectives described the gunman as a Black or Hispanic male with a light complexion who had a bandaged left hand. He was wearing a black balaclava-style mask and white Under Armour sneakers with black trim at the time of the incident.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Shooting Investigations Group at 215-686-8270/71 or call or text the police tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
