Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the car and driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred early Saturday in Northeast Philadelphia.
At around 2 a.m., the vehicle, a white SUV, struck a 21-year-old female pedestrian who was crossing Robbins Avenue mid-block near Torresdale Avenue in Tacony, investigators said. Authorities identified the victim as Octavia Aaron, of Northwood.
After the crash, Aaron was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where she died at around 2:45 a.m., according to police.
Surveillance images showing the SUV were released by authorities Sunday, though detectives aren’t sure of the vehicle’s make or model.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the PPD’s Accident Investigation Unit at 215-685-3180/3181; call or text 215-686-8477; or submit a tip at www.phillypolice.com/forms/submit-a-tip.
