Police make arrest in South Street homicide of DJ Tom Watson

Police have made an arrest in Saturday’s homicide of popular DJ Tom Watson, 36.

Josephe Murray, 18, of the 5700 block of Reedland Street in West Philadelphia, was taken into custody Wednesday following what police said was “an intense investigation by the Homicide Unit.”

Murray is charged with murder and robbery.

Officers on May 11responded the Haagen-Dazs ice cream shop below Watson’s apartment on the 200 block of South Street shortly before 3:30 a.m. andfound Watson lying on the shop floor.

He had been shot in the head and torso and died on the scene.

Officials are reportedly searching for at least one more man believed to have been involved in the slaying.
