A Philadelphia man has been charged with allegedly slashing another man across the face this summer while riding a SEPTA bus.
Investigators said Albert Booth, 22, of the 5000 block of Catharine Street, got into a verbal altercation with a man on Aug. 18 aboard the SEPTA Route 52 bus.
When the man tried to ignore Booth, he allegedly took a knife and slashed the victim from his ear to his mouth. Police said the wound took hundreds of stitches to close.
Officers with the Southwest Detectives Unit took Booth into custody last night. He was arraigned this afternoon and bail was set at 10 percent of $500,000.
Booth is charged with assault, reckless endangerment and possession of an instrument of crime. He is next due in court on Feb. 7 for a preliminary hearing.
