A Philadelphia police officer with the Central Detectives Division confirmed that a woman reported missing this week was found dead Friday dead of an apparent suicide.

Lauren Guzzi, 30, was reported missing on Thursday. She was last seen on Wednesday afternoon at her apartment on the 200 block of S. 6th Street, police said.

No other details were immediately available about the nature, location or time of Guzzi’s death.

Police said in the missing-person bulletin released on Thursday that Guzzi suffered from depression and may not have been taking her medication after she disappeared.

A woman who identified herself as Guzzi’s friend said online that Guzzi lived in Philadelphia with her mother.
