Two men have been arrested in connection with a brutal assault on a woman on March 4, who police say was beaten, sexually assaulted and robbed by one man, while the other served as a look-out.
Archie Swinson, 44, allegedly grabbed the victim as she tried to walk past him on the 1300 block of Lombard Street around 5:30 a.m. on March 4 and strangled her into submission, police said.
He then dragged her down nearby Watts Street, and allegedly punched her in the face and head repeatedly, causing injuries that required medical treatment, before sexually assaulting her and then robbing her of her backpack, police said.
Alleged accomplice Kenneth Faixmel, 38, stood look-out during the incident. Police spotted him serving as the look-out in surveillance video of the incident.
Police nabbed Faixmel, of the 300 block of Broad Street, early Thursday, and charged him with aggravated assault and robbery.
Police nabbed Swinson, of the 1200 block of Ludlow Street, around 10:25 p.m. on Thursday, and hit him with multiple felony charges, including aggravated assault, strangulation, rape, and related charges.
