Five months after a 23-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot wound to his back in West Philadelphia, police have identified a suspect in the homicide.
Police are looking for 30-year-old Omar Lawrence, of the 5600 block of Upland Way in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia. Police think he is responsible for the death of Christian McDonald, 23, of Bala Cynwyd.
McDonald was found on June 3 shot in the back on the 5000 block of WynnefieldAvenue. He had been transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police said McDonald was shot during an argument between the two men. A warrant is out for Lawrence’s arrest. He is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information leading to his whereabouts should call 215-686-3068 or 911.
