Police identify 2 women found stabbed to death in Lawncrest

Authorities have identified two women who were found stabbed to death Tuesday in the basement of Lawncrest house.

Medics declared Angela Trejo, 75, and Alma Barberena, 58, dead at the scene shortly after officers arrived on the 6000 block of Bingham Street at around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a “person with a gun,” police said.

The women were mother and daughter, according to multiple media reports.

Police took a male into custody, and the PPD said Wednesday that charges are pending further investigation. There was no word on a motive, and authorities did not release any other information.
