Porn, lies, & a haunted Philly gay witch-hunt

Black Philadelphians don’t need to watch a horror film this Halloween to feel spooked — just watch a gay porn clip.

Many in the community are outraged and stunned after finding out West Philly professional boxerYusaf ‘Mack Attack’ Mack was apart of a highly explicit gay sex-tape shot by Dawgpound USA, a popular black gay porn production company.

In the viral video, which I saw as part of my research (and just downright curiosity), Mack appears to be knowingly cooperative with partaking in a threesome with two other black men.

He looks very sexually engaged and attentive —he kisses, verbalizes personal sexual demands and even struts in a staged photography shoot with the other men in nude.

This video is not a homemade sex tape, but a professional film that is currently being sold and distributed. Mack even goes by the stage name “Philly” in the sex-tape to not disclose his realidentity.

But according to Mack’s front-page story with the Daily News this week, the engaged father of 10 children claims he was “drugged,” and “love females.”

“The only time I touch a man is when I’m in the ring fighting,” he said.

He also claims that he agreed to do a sex-tape because he was short on cash, but wasn’t under the impression that it would be gay porn.

Masculinity is so damn fragile. And for that reason, I personally think his explanation is bull.

But beyond his claims that he found himself back on a train to Philadelphia (Mack also states that he was paid $4,500 cash for his performance and has yet to actually file an investigation even after a year has passed) the story altogether reads like a tragic tale of the black community having yet to address homophobia.

Social media has already run amuck with blatant homophobic rhetoric that is rooted in religious and sexist arguments. “Mack is too damn tough to be a sissy,” one man posted while sharing the article on Facebook. ”He has slept with too many bitches to be gay… he’s not going to hell. “

Other Facebook comments pitied the situation altogether with one woman saying “this is what happens to black men when they’re on the down low… our community should evolve.”

But as the witch-hunt to expose this man’s sexual exploits continues (famed blogger B. Scott revealed screenshots of Mack in thenude with two different black gay porn performers from another shoot) it’s frustrating to see how unprogressive we are on LGBTQ sensitivity in Philly.

As an openly gay black man who hasnever done porn or disgraced my relationship/family due to my sexuality – it upsets me that my identity stands to be the brunt of the bashing.

Stop it.Cut it out. As a community that has been marginalized and oppressed for simply existing, the scrutiny towards LGBTQ individuals as a whole from this scandal isn’t fair or necessary.

For one man’s misguided actions shouldn’t define an entire community, as your own issues shouldn’t define another. Do better, my black people.
