Man, 69, killed in Port Richmond hit-and-run

A 69-year-old pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash late Tuesday night in Port Richmond, police said.

James Panno, who lived in the neighborhood, was struck just before 11:15 p.m. at the corner of Aramingo Avenue and Ann Street, investigators said. He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he died a short time later.

Authorities did not release a description of the vehicle Wednesday. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the police department’s crash investigation team at 215-685-3181 or call or text 215-686-8477.
