In random but awesome event news, Philly is having a one-of-a-kind block party Thursday, combining two things that young urbanites love: clean energy and bicycles.
Power Down Philly will take place at the PHS Pops Up Garden at 20th and Market streets on Thursday from 3-7 p.m.
Four bike pedal generators will power the entire event, from the lighting to the D.J. booth. The interactive generators will be stationed around the party in the hopes that attendees will hop on and provide some energy.
Dave Patten and Rob. A! are slated to perform and the event’s Facebook page promises free food and giveaways from Fuze beverages.
Power Down is sponsored by local clothing companies Aphillyated and Verde Styles, as well as the Temple Engineering Department and Hewlett Packard.
Guests include former Eagle Vince Papale… and, according to the event’s Twitter page, 50 Bieber.
