Meet Admiral Rachel Levine, the 17th assistant secretary for health for the US Department of Health and Human Services and the head of the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. Admiral Levine grew up in a time when women were beginning to break down barriers in the workplace, and one of these women was her mother, who is an attorney. She hopes to break down barriers too, while also paving the way for the appointment of more transgender people to government positions.
