Following the Philadelphia Eagles’ victory over the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship game on Sunday, the streets of Philadelphia became flooded with fans celebrating the win and the upcoming Super Bowl appearance. Throughout the initial celebrations and aftermath, the Philadelphia Police Department reported ‘several significant incidents’ that took place overnight.
According to the PPD, a total of 31 citations were issued for Disorderly Conduct or Failure to Disperse. Among those cited were 30 adults and one juvenile. There were four assaults on police officers reported, two of which resulted in arrests. Additionally, there was also one stabbing, two shootings, one vandalism incident, and one report of a vehicle striking multiple pedestrians, authorities said.
Two PPD officers were assaulted during the NFC Championship while working event detail. According to authorities, at 4:40 p.m., an officer was assaulted at 1100 Pattison Ave. during a disturbance. The offender, 44-year-old Eugene Dennis of Media, Pennsylvania, was charged with aggravated assault and related charges.

At 6:20 p.m., an officer was attacked at 700 Pattison Avenue by a 32-year-old man who has since been identified as Jose Moya of Soquel, California. Moya was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and related offenses, police said.

According to authorities, at approximately 7:45 p.m. on the 3600 block of S. 11th St., a 25-year-old male was stabbed in the leg following a verbal altercation.
The victim was transported to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center and is in stable condition. The suspect, 34-year-old Tramayne Davis-Blockson, was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime, and recklessly endangering another person.

Shortly after 9 p.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of Sansom Street, where they found five shell casings and blood; however, no victims were located, according to police. Additionally, at 9:25 p.m., officers encountered a 20-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound at 1300 Chestnut Street, authorities said. The victim was transported to Jefferson and is in stable condition.
At 9:30 p.m., a silver 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA250 struck multiple pedestrians on Spring Garden Street in North Philly before being stopped by police. Eight individuals sustained various injuries, ranging from pain to fractures. The driver, a 26-year-old female, later identified as Rebekah DeShields of Narberth, Pennsylvania, was taken into custody, and Central Detectives are conducting an ongoing investigation, according to authorities.

Around 10:00 p.m., while dispersing a large crowd at 100 South Broad Street, an officer was struck in the head by a full water bottle after encountering verbal hostility. No arrests have been made, and the Central Detective Division is investigating.
Shortly before 11:30 p.m., a 39-year-old male arrived at Albert Einstein Medical Center with two graze wounds to his chest and stomach. According to the victim, the injuries were sustained earlier that evening while driving south on Broad St. near Spring Garden St., where he heard gunshots from a crowd. The incident with the Shooting Investigation Group (SIG), police said.
Early Monday morning, at approximately 4:11 a.m., officers responded to the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office at 3 South Penn Square for a report of vandalism. The glass front door was shattered, and two large glass windows were cracked. According to authorities, the investigation is ongoing with Central Detectives.
Finally, a video is circulating showing an unidentified man shooting into the air at Frankford and Cottman Avenues. Philadelphia Police said they are aware of the incident, and an investigation is ongoing.
