Tuesday’s game between the Nashville Predators and host Stars has been postponed due to the continued power outages in the Dallas area due to severe weather, the NHL announced.
The Predators and Stars also saw their scheduled game on Monday postponed because of a winter storm that was battering the region.
“The NHL and Stars made the decision to postpone the game after further discussion with Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson’s office,” the league released in a statement.
Per the league, makeup dates will be announced as soon as they can be confirmed.
The Dallas Morning News reported that the American Airlines Center, where the Stars and the NBA’s Mavericks play, is on the same critical infrastructure power grid as Dallas’ hospitals and convention center.
The decision to postpone Monday night’s game came relatively late, as players and coaches alike were alerted of the league’s decision while they were in their respective locker rooms preparing to take the ice at American Airlines Center.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Tuesday also ordered Dallas’ NBA team, the Mavericks, to postpone their game Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons.
