Municipal Judge Felice Rowley Stack set a preliminary hearing date today for three suspects accused of kidnapping mentally-disabled adults and chaining them to a basement boiler in order to cash their Social Security checks.
Linda Ann Weston, Eddie Wright and Gregory Thomas, who did not appear in court, are charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and related offenses after a landlord discovered four people trapped in a Tacony apartment building subbasement Oct. 15.
The trio’s preliminary hearing was scheduled for Dec. 19. Case prosecutors refused comment after today’s status hearing.
