Puppy theft caught on tape

Police are on the hunt for a man caught on surveillance video stealing a five-month-old pit bull puppy left tied to a pole while its owner shopped at the Rite Aid store on the 2500 block of Aramingo Ave. in Kensington.

The theft took less than two minutes. Surveillance video caught images of the suspect parking a blue SUV in front of the dog. After stopping to scan the area, he placed the grey and white puppy in his car and drove away.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, bald, wearing all gray clothing.

Surveillance footage did not capture the direction he fled in.

Anyone with information is asked to call Philadelphia Police.
