Puyero Venezuelan Flavor adds new item to the menu

Puyero Venezuelan Flavor is bringing all sorts of excitement to South Street Headhouse District with their fun, casual eats straight out of Venezuela.

They’ve recently added a new dish to their menu — cachapas.

This staple food item at Venezuelan roadside food stands consists of ground sweet corn made into a thick batter that’s cooked like a pancake. Cachapas can be eaten with white cheese and nata (latin sour cream) as well as stuffed with pork, chicken and shredded beef.

“We aim to deliver the full street experience so it was only a matter of time for us to bring the cachapa to the menu,” says Puyero co-owner Simon Arends.

Simon’s brother and co-owner Gil Arends adds, “Cachapas and nata mix perfectly! It’s a street food classic.”

The current lineup of cachapas on the menu is listed below:

Clasica
Corn fritter pancake with white cheese, topped with nata

Jamon y Queso
Corn fritter pancake with white cheese, smoked ham, topped with nata

Todera
Corn fritter pancake with white cheese, your choice of chicken, shredded beef or pork, topped with nata

Pernil
Corn fritter pancake with white cheese, pork, tomato lettuce, topped with nata

All of the cachapas are available for lunch and dinner daily.
