Ramsey, Nutter to address mob attacks

Police Commissioner Ramsey and Mayor Michael Nutter are expected early this week to publicly address additional efforts to combat mob attacks, a police spokeswoman said.

Police patrols on Friday and Saturday have already been stepped up since swarms of kids attacked bystanders last month, but it was not enough to stem the tide of those who attacked two men in separate incidents Friday in Center City.

Police made four arrests on two counts of aggravated assault; one suspect was only 11 years old.
