Wale made history when he opened for Obama before the president’s final State of the Union speech on Tuesday, as the first rapper to do so — and then he came to party in Philly.
After playing a concert last night at the Liacouras Center at Temple with Fetty Wap, French Montana and Logic, the D.C.-native rapper headed to clubCoda (17th and Walnut in Center City) for the after-party.
Wale hung out at a VIP table next to the dance floor for a half hour or so, before hitting the stage to perform for nearly an hour. He did a few of his older songs, and a few new ones that have yet to be recorded (and might not be, he said).
Wale just announced that his fifth album, “Shine,” will be out this year.
