Red-wearing suspect shot man in buttocks in West Philly: Cops

A 21-year-old man is lucky to be alive today after cops say he was shot at 59th and Spruce streets.

The Philadelphia Police Department saidthat on Dec. 27, they dispatched officers to that West Philly intersection. Officers were responding to reports of a person with a gun. Authorities said that when they arrived, they found a 21-year-old man laying in the street with a gunshot wound to his left buttocks.

The young man was transported to Presbyterian Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and listed in critical condition.

Cops described the primary suspect as a heavyset black male, 5 foot 8 inches tall, and wearing a black puffy vest with black long sleeves underneath, red pants andbright red sneakers. Authorities added that they believethe suspect is armed with a handgun.

The suspect was reportedly with a woman and a man on a crutch at the time of the incident.
