Reid sees no QB controversy

It’s always sunny in Andy Reid’s world. And if anyone thought the mere mention of a quarterback controversy would ruin his day, you were greatly mistaken. The coach even called the debate over who should be the team’s starter — Kevin Kolb or Michael Vick — a “beautiful situation.”

“I look at it a lot differently than other people look at it,” Reid said yesterday. “I’ve got two quarterbacks that can play … at a very important position. I’m a happy guy about it.”

Reid has stated time and again that Kolb is his starting quarterback, although the prevailing thought is to hand the job to Vick, who has scored 52 points in his last six quarters.

“I’m very proud of him,” Reid said of Vick.

But Kolb is expected to lead the first-team offense at tomorrow’s practice and will start Sunday. The confident Texan said he appreciates Reid’s loyalty, but the only way to silence his critics is with a strong performance.

“I appreciate it, but I have to go prove it,” Kolb said. “That’s the competitive nature of everybody.”
