Report: Eagles ‘aggressively’ trying to move up in first round of 2024 NFL Draft

The NFL Draft is finally here. With just hours separating the Philadelphia Eagles from making their first round selection, it appears as though GM Howie Roseman is wasting no time in phoning around the league.

Eagles eyeing a move up?

Jordan Schultz has reported that the Eagles are one of the more aggressive teams when it comes to trying to move up ahead of tonight’s event.

This shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. The Eagles have been among the more active teams in the NFL when it comes to trading during Draft weekend, and the team were aggressive in moving up to secure the services of Jordan Davis, DeVonta Smith, and Jalen Carter.

The players available at the 22nd spot don’t exactly scream home-run hit, but there is a plethora of offensive linemen and edge rushers who would fit that bill perfectly and would be available in the teens. The Eagles could well decide to move back too, but that extra second-round pick feels like the perfect bargaining tool to push up and snag a player they’re extremely high on.

It remains to be seen just what Howie Roseman has up his sleeve this evening, but the team is certainly in a position of luxury. The roster is stacked and while there are holes that need filling, none are glaring which will provide some added flexibility when it comes to getting the best player available.

The Eagles will be picking with the 22nd overall selection during tonight’s first round.
