Doug Collins joked the other day that Michael Vick would be his starting point guard. Obviously, that’s not true.
However, there’s a chance the Sixers may have Carmelo Anthony when training camp opens this week.
The team is in trade talks with the Nuggets for the All-Star forward, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. Andre Iguodala would head to Denver, along with other players, in a salary swap. The Sixers would also need Anthony to agree on a long-term deal, since his contract expires after the season.
The Sixers are not one of the four teams that Anthony has expressed an interest in.
Anthony was reportedly headed to New Jersey late last week as part of a complex four-team deal, but the Nuggets are now exploring other options.
