Report: Sixers sign Judah Mintz to Exhibit 10 deal

Just a day after signing Max Fiedler, the Philadelphia 76ers have made another addition to their roster ahead of training camp, signing guard Judah Mintz.

According to a source familiar with the Sixers, Mintz’s deal, like Fiedler’s, is an Exhibit 10 contract. As previously stated in our piece on Fiedler, an Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, non-guaranteed deal worth the league’s minimum salary that can include a bonus worth up to $75,000 that will be rewarded if the player—if they are waived—remains with the team’s G League affiliate for at least 60 days.

For those who feel Mintz’s name may sound familiar, it should, as he appeared in eight games with the Sixers during their Las Vegas Summer League stint. During that time, he averaged 9.5 points and 1.5 assists, showcasing an impressive amount of fearlessness for a rookie.

Prior to joining the Summer Sixers, Mintz played two collegiate seasons for the Syracuse Orange, for whom he averaged 17.5, 4.5 assists, and 2.0 steals in 64 career games, which includes 63 career starts.

After averaging 18.8 points and 4.4 assists during his sophomore campaign, Mintz was named to the All-ACC Second Team.

Philadelphia already has significant guard depth, particularly at lead guard, with Tyrese Maxey, Kyle Lowry, and Reggie Jackson all expected to play roles for the squad this season. Most likely, Mintz is a camp body who will soon find himself in Delaware, playing for the Blue Coats, as he continues to develop his game in hopes of eventually making the leap to the NBA.

For now, he remains an interesting young name to watch, and if he does, in fact, join the Blue Coats for the upcoming season, he will be one of the premier players worth the price of admission in Delaware.
