A rideshare driver died after experiencing a medical emergency with four passengers in his car, leading to a fiery crash Saturday night in Fishtown, authorities said.

The collision happened just after 9 p.m. on the 1000 block of Marlborough Street, near the I-95 overpass, according to reports.

Police said a 31-year-old man was behind the wheel of a white Hyundai when he suffered a medical episode, which caused him to crash into three parked cars. The car burst into flames, and he was unable to escape, investigators said.

The four riders were able to flee the vehicle and were not hurt, according to the PPD. No other injuries were reported.

Authorities have not publicly identified the deceased driver.
