Some of us make multiple trips a day to the nearby coffeeshop — for a morning java jolt as well as a late afternoon “pick-me-up.” Going to the same place all the time gets boring. (Sorry, La Colombe.) So it’s a breath of fresh air that Rival Bros Coffee has officially opened their new location at 1528 Spruce St. in the Touraine building.
Their menu includes a range of drip coffee and espresso beverages in addition to hand-poured, single-origin coffee (made with a Chemex). You can even choose from cold brews on draft, loose leaf teas, juices and all-natural sodas.
Hungry? A food menu is also available. It currently offers: The Daily Bread (Toast from High Street on Market with organic and grass-fed butter, sea salt and fruit preserves) Peanut Butter Toast (peanut butter with dried figs, maple syrup and vanilla salt) and a “Cubano Style” Sandwich (potato bread, cured ham, Swiss cheese, Kosher pickles and mustard mayo).
At 1,750 square feet, this second location is nearly twice the size of their original shop at 2400 Lombard. Seating is available for up to 30 people at the Touraine.
