Last weekend marked the official start to Dilworth Park’s popular spring/summertime activity—the Rothman Orthopaedics Roller Rink. The sunny-time season favorite calls the front of City Hall home, and the colorful and retro-inspired rink will remain open through July 16.

New this year, the recognizable checkerboard floor will be complemented by a brand-new art overhead installation, designed and fabricated by Philadelphia’s Lucky Dog Studio, the release states. And the piece will feature rows of multi-colored ribbon that create a fringe effect for skaters.

While working up an appetite, Philadelphians can also head to the Air Garden Grille, which will be serving up a variety of snack and libation options, including fried fish tacos, elote street corn, bites from from the local Desserts by Sprinkled Sweetness, plus bar options spanning Michelob Ultra and Kona Big Wave, along with creative cocktails made with Haku Vodka and Tres Generaciones Tequila.

Tickets for the Rothman Orthopaedics Roller Rink range in price depending on what time and how big your group is. As the release states: The rink will be open Sundays through Thursdays from 11 a.m.-8:45 p.m. and on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Admission will be $8 for children 10 and younger and $10 for adults. Skate rental is $6, and group rates are available for parties of 10 or more. While online purchases are recommended, in-person sales will be offered onsite based on availability. On Mondays and Tuesdays from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Matinee Skate will also be offered at a discount of $5 off of admission to guests of all ages.

On top of skating, if you’re in the area, Center City District Parks is continuing their Dinner and a Show promotion through May 31. The District has partnered with several of Philadelphia’s nationally recognized performing arts organizations to offer exclusive discounts on tickets during the activation.
