Rothman opens Walk-In Centers with Urgent Care services

By Samantha Biddle, PA-C and Thomas Murrin, PA-C

Imagine waking up early this morning to another day of below freezing temperatures. You look outside to see that last week’s melted snow has disappeared. You bundle up and prepare yourself for a blustery morning. Now, you’re off to work and it’s just another day at the office…that is until your footing fails you. Your coffee mug flies into the air as you fall into the hard, wet ground. This was no ordinary fall. You heard a crack in your ankle and have a growing suspicion that you have broken something.

Where do you go from here? Do you call your primary care physician and beg to be squeezed into their busy schedule? Do you go to the emergency room where you will be met with a fairly standard seven hour wait? Maybe an urgent care will be faster but are they really the best option?

What you really need is an orthopedic urgent care. You need a specialist to promptly take x-rays, perform a thorough examination and start you on the right path to a speedy recovery. You want an orthotics specialist to fit your new brace properly and show you how to care for it. In addition to that, you need an expedited appointment with a foot and ankle specialist who will closely monitor your progress and help guide you through this injury.

Rothman Orthopaedics has been a trusted and internationally recognized leader in orthopedic care since 1970. As the urgent care model of medicine gained popularity, Rothman recognized and responded by creating easy access to great orthopedic care. Originally, several orthopedic urgent care clinics opened in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Hours of operation included Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m.to 8 p.m. The urgent care clinics have been a great success in our communities but they’re reach could only extend so far.

In an effort to expand coverage for the region, a new and exciting idea was born—the Rothman Walk-In Centers. There are now 7 new centers in place, spread throughout the outskirts of Philadelphia. Hours of operation include Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Appointments can be made by phone where you have the ability to choose a time and day that works best with your schedule. Of course, no appointment is truly needed as all walk-ins are welcome.

Admittedly so, we live in a society and culture that thrives on convenience. Why should excellent orthopedic care be any different?

Samantha Biddle, PA-C and Thomas Murrin, PA-C see patients at the Chalfont and Glen Mills Walk-In Centers. For more information about Rothman’s Walk-In Center and Urgent Care services, visit RothmanOrtho.com or call 844-320-760.
