Despite losing in five games to the St. Louis Cardinals in the NLDS, the Phillies still finished with the best record in baseball with 102 wins. And some — including GM Ruben Amaro, Jr. — believe they are still the best team in the majors.
Amaro appeared on 94.1 WIP’s mid-day show, with Michael Barkann and Ike Reese, and admitted that he’s been unable to watch the World Series. Pay attention to the last sentence.
“I can’t watch it either. I do not watch,” Amaro told the radio station. “I watched a little bit of the game yesterday because it was a nice performance by the kid [Derek Holland]. I bet you I’ve watched maybe 12 innings. Because I still think we’re the best team in baseball.”
Amaro talked about a range of topics, including Jimmy Rollins‘ future and Boston’s epic, alcohol-induced collapse. For a good summary, check out The700Level.com.
