Not a lot of people in Philadelphia like Sam Bradford. He’s an overpaid and average quarterback who’s never played in the playoffs and stirred the pot with the Eagles after the team drafted Carson Wentz.
But if the Birds contend this year it will be because of Bradford. He is exceptionally accurate.
Bradford was 11th in the NFL last season with a 65 percent completion rate. But lets look further at his body of work in 2015.
Pro Football Focus uses a metric called accuracy percentage, that takes into account dropped passes, spikes, batted passes and throwaways.
With this measurement, Bradford had a 78.6 percentage in accuracy, the second best to Teddy Bridgewater and ahead of Tom Brady, Russell Wilson and Kirk Cousins.
The Eagles have a receivers corps that was notorious for dropping passes last year, with the group might not be all that improved, leaving Bradford expecting to complete passes at about the same rate in 2016.
But who knows, if Jordan Matthews, Zach Ertz and Nelson Agholormake some strides it could be a big payday for Bradford when the Eagles jettison him for the Wentz era in 2017.
